I teach children from the age of 5 upwards. At this age I vary the activities during the lesson to make the lessons more fun and, at the same time, help your child gain an understanding of music as well as piano.

I teach children to read the notes themselves. There's a growing repertoire of appealing piano music aimed at children for them to enjoy. I use a variety of methods to help children internalise slightly more complex rhythms, which enables them to play music with a more contemporary feel. I also give children a fair amount of choice in which pieces they learn.

Cameron was taught piano and music theory by Tim from age 6 to 11 years. During this time he enjoyed a varied repertoire and advanced through the grades, often performing at the Suffolk Festival.
